TIPS. TRICKS. LESSONS. ADVICE. STORIES.
I became a Mumma at the ripe old age of 18! This happened a year after I dropped out of High School and was one big hell a of a walking question mark on who I was and what on earth I was going to do with my life and how this was all going to turn out.
A lot of people were pretty certain that this combination wouldn’t work out too well and really didn’t have any faith in me at all. But I made it my mission to prove anyone who doubted me wrong, and to be just as good as a mother as anyone else.
I’ve been on a serious rollercoster throughout my mothering years, but they are what have taught me the absolute most about me, and about life.
They say relationships are your biggest mirror, but for me - My kids are the biggest mirrors I will ever have in my life.
The time I started finding motherhood a lot easier was the time that I started looking at myself first, and not my children's actions. I needed to heal myself so that I could give my child the best parts of me - something that I struggled doing tremdously before this. I could never figure out why parenting was so hard, but it turns out, most of the time it wasn't my children making it hard, it was me not looking at myself first...
I honestly think as a parent Self Development is the most important thing we can do, what we are now is what we are teaching our children to be.. So it’s pretty important to figure out who we are now and become the best version of it.
After all, we all want what's best for our children, and what's best is giving them as much love as possible, making them feel special and giving them everything they need to grow up and love who they are. But we really can't do that unless we learn to love ourselves first. A concept I desperately needed to work on when I first became a mum, but didn't know how.
Parenting always has it’s difficult parts, it's without a doubt the most testing and difficult thing we can embark on. What helped me in some of my hardest moments as a parent was to read about other people’s journey's... So here are some of my parenting journey's, along with the lessons I’ve learnt from them..
I may be a very young mother, and people may judge that, but as parents we all share a common ground - Parenting is hard, no matter what age - and connecting with someones journey may make this rollercoaster ride just a little bit easier.
